Mobile Privacy Policy

Applicability

Money Mart®* (together with its subsidiaries and affiliates, the “Company”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This privacy policy explains how we handle your personal information when you use our mobile application (“Application”). This privacy policy supplements and should be read in conjunction with our Privacy Policy

The Application allows you to apply for and service loans and to transmit and deposit checks and other financial instruments using compatible and supported mobile phones, wireless devices, or network devices under your control (the "Services").

What information does the Application obtain and how is it used?

The Application allows us to collect information you provide when you download the Application and register an account. Registration with us is mandatory in order to be able to use the basic features of the Application. When you register with us and use the Application, we generally collect:

(a)  your name, address, email address, phone number, birth date, username, password and other registration information;
(b)  income and transaction-related information;
(c)  information you provide us when you contact us for help, including phone number or other contact information;
(d)  images of checks and other financial instruments you send to us that may contain personal and financial account information;
(e)  your debit card or other payment card information;
(f)  additional optional personal information, such as Social Insurance Number, and
(g)  any other information you enter into our system when using the Application.

We may use the information you provide to contact you from time to time to provide you with important information, required notices, updates, and, where permitted by law, marketing promotions.

Do third parties see and/or have access to information obtained by the Application?

Our Privacy Policy describes the information we may share and the types of third parties who may receive your personal information. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Text Message Policy

By providing your cellphone number, you agree to receiving account-related text messages in conjunction with the services you have requested. Message frequency varies by account/preference. Message and data rates may apply.

Automatic Data Collection

We collect information that is generated through your actions when you use the Application or browse our website, such as your transactions, interactions with our product pages, your interests and preferences, as well as statistics regarding your use of our services. We may use your information to conduct our own analytics to help us understand how the Application is being used, such as the frequency and duration of usage.

Managing Your Information

You have the right to access, update, and correct your personal information in our custody and control, subject to certain exceptions prescribed by law. You may review and update certain profile information you have provided to us by logging into your account on the Application and clicking “Profile” then “Privacy Settings.” If you would like to correct any other data that you have provided via the Application, please contact us at 1-800-361-1407. Please note that some or all of your data may be required in order for the Application to function properly, and we may be required to retain certain information by law.

Children

We do not use the Application to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 14 in Quebec, or under the age of 13 in all other provinces. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with information without their consent, he or she should contact us by calling 1-800-361-1407. We will delete such information from our files within a reasonable time.

Security

We strive to implement adequate safeguards to protect your information. We employ physical, technical, and administrative safeguards for this purpose. Please be aware that, although we endeavor to provide reasonable security for information we process and maintain, no security system can prevent all potential security breaches.

Changes

This policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. We will notify you of any material changes to our policy by updating the policy on the Application and posting the new policy here. You are advised to consult this policy and our Privacy Policy regularly for any changes.
